-Week 8 -Do Now -English is the most important subject in the school.

English is where you learn about writing and when you learn about stuff to do with it. I agree with the statement because I find that writing is very important in life. Writing can help with any job, and everyone needs to know how to. I think that English is very important in school because most of our learning is based off writing.

Writing is one of the most important things in our life, It is also the best way of non verbal communication, it can help with emergencies and other stuff.

-PB4L Expectations

Behavior Expectations

I already know that I'm always on time to school because I get here early enough and I'm always on time to classes.

I always keep the doorways clear because if there is a fire or something and if the doorways weren't clear it would be time consuming and dangerous.

I have the confidence to speak up in front of people but I don't do it much.

I always use good manners because I find it extremely rude if you don't.

Things that I'm not so good at is bringing my chrome book charged everyday. I don't really like using devices and technology because I'm used to working in books.

I'm also not very good at having a good mindset, I don't enjoy the work I do but I still do it anyway.

-Week 6 Do Now- Anyone who lives in Aotearoa New Zealand should be allowed to vote in the federal election.

I disagree with the statement because many people under 16-18 are not ready to vote and there not mature enough and may end up choosing the wrong side. If anyone could vote then It would be very messy and could lead to the government becoming over powered on some sides.

The people who already do vote know what their doing because they understand whats happening and when. If the government let 14 year old kids vote then they wouldn't know what their doing because they wouldn't understand it.

-Chemistry- Distillation.

What is evaporation? -Liquid gas by heating up particles.

What is condensing? -Gas- liquid by cooling down particles.

What is distillation separates a solution using evaporation.

Aim: use distillation to separate out the dissolved sugars different types of coke.

Hypothesis: I think that the normal coke would have more sugar then the rest because it already has a lot of sugar.

-Kiri te Kanawa essay.

Claire Mary Teresa Rawstron (known as Dame Kiri te Kanawa) is an influential New Zealander who grew up in Gisborne. She is worldwide known for her singing. She sings Soprano, (Which means she sings in a very high chord). She can also sing in many different languages. Kiri is 77 years old and her birthday is 6 March 1944.

Kiri was born in Gisborne and as a five-week-old infant, she was adopted by Tom and Nell Te Kanawa and given the name Kiri. Tom, like her biological father, was Maori, and his wife, like Kiri's biological mother, was of Irish descent. When she was 12 years old she attended St Mary's College. One of the nuns there was a singing teacher and Kiri was one of her pupils. The nun is now 101 years of age and is still singing at the school.

Kiri Te Kanawa had three top 40 albums in Australia in the mid-1980s. Some of her most famous songs are; God Save The Queen, L'invitation Au Voyage and Handel's Let the Bright Seraphim. To mark the transfer into the new millennium, Kiri sang from the first place in the world to see the sun rise in the year 2000 along the coastline of her home town Gisborne in a live telecast to over 80 countries. In 1981 she sang at the wedding of Charles, Prince of Wales, and Lady Diana Spencer. She sang Handel's Let the Bright Seraphim.

In 1982 Kiri became a Dame. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire, for services to music, in the 1973 Queen's Birthday Honours, and was elevated to Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, for services to opera, in the 1982 Queen's Birthday Honours. Kiri performed at the opening of the Commonwealth Games in 2006, singing Happy Birthday to the Queen herself.

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa has become the first Māori woman to receive the Aotearoa New Zealand Māori Business Leader of the Year award for her talent and business acumen over a more than 40-year international career. That is why Dame Kiri te Kanawa is an influential person to many people; whether they are young or elderly.

-Topic: The principle is the most important person in the school.

I disagree with the topic because the pupils who go to school are the ones that are doing all the hard work and the ones who are getting the education while the principle is sitting around doing anything which isn't hard. Principles are free and they don't have to do much while the students are hard working and don't stop until they are told.

Students have to sit in one or more classrooms a day for many hours a week and they need to be at school and on time as well. The principles can do whatever they want and whenever they want; and they can arrive at school late and not even get in trouble.

-Shark Infested Custard.

Today in Health we played a game called shark infested custard. Its a game where you have to move your whole team from hoop to hoop without falling out or touching the concrete. We used negotiation as our IP skill. We used heaps of warm fuzzies. I worked at level 3 and we worked together well.

One thing I would do differently is I would get our team to work together more efficiently so we could go faster and more further.

-Health-Games

Today in health we couldn't go outside so we had to play our games inside. We played a whole bunch of different games and we had to use an interpersonal skill. I chose differently this time. I chose Verbal Communication. I worked at level three of Hellisons model.
